Half-Roma Dezi and half-Vietnamese Tran, two outsiders from broken families, share a passion for stargazing. While their classmates from the small-town grammar school enjoy their youth and the benefits of prosperity, they are stuck in a prefabricated high-rise on the outskirts of town, with life seemingly slipping through their fingers. That is, until they crash a posh party as uninvited guests... This debut novella, which blends social realism with black humour, relates what it is like to be an oddball in Czechia. It depicts the coming-of-age of an "angry young man" and suggests where it is the society that fails, and where personal accountability begins.
