Juraj Horváth (1974) is a graphic designer, illustrator, and editor. He graduated from the illustration and graphic design studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, which he now heads, and completed an internship at the type design and typography studio. Along with his wife Tereza Horváthová, he runs the Baobab publishing house and is part of the creative team behind the Tabook small-publishers’ festival in Tábor. He collaborates with a number of publishing houses as a graphic designer and illustrator and is also the author of the visual style of the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava. In 2001, he won the Most Beautiful Book in the World award at the Leipzig Book Fair for his book Příběhy z parní lázně (Stories from the Steam Bath).
Together with Jan Čumlivski, he created the cover and graphic design for the Kher publishing house's short- story collections Všude samá krása (Nothing But Beauty Everywhere) and Samet blues (Velvet Blues), Květoslava Podhradská's Povídání u povidel / O vakeriben paš o lekvaris (Conversations over Plum Jam; Golden Ribbon, 3rd place in the Most Beautiful Book of the Year competition), Gary G. Steele's Čhávata z manéže (Gypsy Family Circus of 1933; 3rd place in the Most Beautiful Book of the Year competition), Tulák / Čavargoš (Tramp) by Tera Fabiánová, Májky a totemy (Maypoles and Totems) by Michal Šamko (30 Best Books for Children and Young Adults), Jan Hauer's Moji lidi (My People), the two parts of Kiba Lumberg's trilogy Memesa, Černý motýl (Black Butterfly) and Potrhaná křídla (Torn Wings), Martin Kanaloš's debut Já, Tran a všechno ostatní (Me, Tran, and Everything Else), etc.
