Emmanuel Guibert is a French comic book artist.
He made his debut with the comic book Brune, in which he captured the rise of fascism in Germany during the 1930s. Another notable work of his reflecting historical events is Alan's War. In it, Guibert recounts the wartime experiences of his friend Alan I. Cope, who served as an American soldier at the end of World War II. In 2000, Guibert joined the Atelier des Vosges in Paris, where he collaborated with Joann Sfar, for whom he wrote the scripts for the successful series Sardine de l'espace (Sardine in Outer Space). Together with photojournalist Didier Lefèvre, Emmanuel Guibert created a comic book called Le Photographe / The Photohrapher (Editions Dupuis 2003), a highly acclaimed and frequently translated documentary graphic novel based on Lefèvre's war photographs from Afghanistan.
